WAU Staff Update
The Wayne Academic Union (WAU) employs three individuals: an Executive Director, an Organizer, and an Office Administrator. The Organizer and Office Administrator, along with other colleagues at various higher education institutions in Michigan (e.g., LEO, GEO, UPTF, etc), are represented by the Communication Workers of America (CWA), known as the Guild.

Childcare Subsidy Application Form Now Open
You can now apply for the WAU Childcare Subsidy program, supplementing costs for childcare accrued between July and December 2023. The application period will close Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:59pm.

As we near the end of 2023, we want to reach out and thank you for the commitment you’ve shown in working together toward a new contract. The many meetings we held, the retreat we organized, and the survey we sent out all showed great enthusiasm, resolve, and commitment to addressing our work-related issues at Wayne.
Remembering Guy Stern
Guy Stern, Distinguished Professor of German Emeritus and former union member, died on December 7, 23, a bit shy of his 102nd birthday.
