Childcare Subsidy Application Form Now Open

WAU bargaining unit members can now apply for the WAU Childcare Subsidy program, supplementing costs for childcare accrued between July and December 2023. The application period will close Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:59pm.

To apply, please use this form. After submission, email copies of your proofs of payment to office@waunion.org. Acceptable proofs of payment include: receipts, invoices or evidence of bank transfer, and must reflect the licensed childcare provider included in the application. Please note this subsidy is considered taxable income.

WAU won a benefit during the 2021 contract negotiations where administration committed to fund the WAU Childcare Subsidy Program at $80,000 per 6 months for the length of the current contract. While not all childcare costs can be subsidized, this program can provide some relief for this essential service.
